Opening hours

October to March 
Monday to Saturday: 10am - 4:45pm
Sunday: 12pm - 4:45pm 

April to September 
Monday to Saturday: 10am - 5:45pm 
Sunday: 12pm - 5:45pm 

Closed during religious services and on January1, May1 and December 25.

Exceptional closures

The royal necropolis (i.e. the ‘museum’ section and its collection of royal funerary sculptures) is part of a church used for worship and is therefore subject to regular exceptional closures. These closures also result in the closure of the Fabrique de la flèche, unless otherwise stated.

  • Sunday 18 January: open from 12.30pm to 4.45pm
  • Wednesday, 21 January: open from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and from 1:30 p.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Saturday, 24 January: open from 11:30 a.m. to 4:45 p.m.
  • Sunday 25 January: open from 12pm to 3.00pm

Valid from Tuesday to Sunday.

Combined ticket for the Basilica of Saint-Denis and the Pantheon

Benefit from a preferential rate for the visit of the two monuments of the Centre des monuments nationaux network (3 days delay between the two visits).

Please note: the Arrow Factory is closed on Mondays.

  • Free admission on the European Heritage Days weekend, which will take place on Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 September 2026.
  • The monument does not participate in the free admission scheme on the first Sunday of each month. However, four free admission days are organised each year. The next one will take place on Saturday 3 January 2026, throughout the day.

How to get there

By transport

Metro line 13, Basilique de Saint-Denis station (no elevator), 100 meters from the monument.
RERD, Saint-Denis stop, then Tramway T1 (5 minutes) or 15 minutes on foot.
RERB (then Bus 153 or 253)

By car

9 km from the center of Paris: access via Porte de La Chapelle, then A1, exit Saint-Denis - center ville. At Porte de Paris, Saint-Denis, follow the green sign "Saint-Denis Centre" on the right. Then go to the Indigo Parking named "Basilique", located 100 meters from the monument. The city center of Saint-Denis is pedestrian.

By bike

From Porte de la Villette, along the Saint-Denis canal (20 minutes). 
There is no bicycle garage near the basilica.

  • No lockers or cloakrooms on site
  • Guide and assistance dogs permitted
  • Toilets and baby-changing facilities
  • Food not permitted
  • Authorisation required for professional photography
  • Speaking is subject to authorisation and reserved for qualified persons in accordance with the provisions of the Tourism Code.
  • Smoking is prohibited throughout the site, both inside and outside the monument.
