The Centre des monuments nationaux has joined forces with the Festival de Saint-Denis to host classical music concerts in the exceptional setting of the cathedral basilica of Saint-Denis, a masterpiece of Gothic art.

Since 1969, the Festival de Saint-Denis has sought to combine classical music with the architectural heritage of Saint-Denis. It is undoubtedly the uniqueness of the Festival, born of a demanding combination, that enables it to reach this age: a 12th-century basilica in the heart of a popular city on the move. Every year in June, the Festival presents a programme of major works from the repertoire and new works by internationally renowned artists and up-and-coming young talents at the Cathedral Basilica of Saint-Denis and the Maison d'Education de la Légion d'Honneur. Keen to open up to other musical styles, the Festival has also presented jazz, pop and world music concerts since its inception. Above all, the Festival is a story shared by the people of the region. For 30 years now, the Saint-Denis Festival has been organising a wide range of awareness-raising activities for young and old to make its programme more accessible, in the run-up to each edition.
